The Opportunity

• Analyze, design, architect, develop, test, and maintain applications and software components.
• Develop RESTful APIs to support both internal and external clients. Build reliable, maintainable, well documented features that will scale to support millions of respondents.
• Develop software for user interface, business logic, data modeling and systems, and component integration.
• Execute full software development life cycle as part of an Agile team including new software features, enhancements, maintenance, and re-architectures.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine and modify requirements.
• Follow established design paradigms and design patterns.
• Follow strong unit testing and integration testing practices.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to monitor shipped features for success and issues. Support the business teams and product managers in data extracts and data analysis. Review application and system designs, and code developed by team members.
• Port application and software component suites across different cloud platform infrastructure & architectures.
• Planning, executing and coordinating software releases into production environments until stable state.
• Optimize system and application performance.
• Business requirement elicitation and translation into technical road map and design for subsequent implementation.
• Assess eco-system architecture to simplify, reduce cost of ownership and increase scale for growth.
• Cross engineering team, domain and department collaboration to drive software/system solutions to fulfill business feature and technical engineering requirements.
• Utilize the following tools/technologies: Python, Java,Golang, AWS, S3, SQS, IAM, EC2, ElasticBeanstalk, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Route53, Linux OS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Jenkins, Groovy, Grafana, JSON, GIT, PagerDuty, Confluence, Jira, Slack, and Restful APIs.
• Position allows working from home anywhere in the United States. Headquarters located at 365 Canal Street, Suite 3100, New Orleans, LA 70130.

Qualifications:

• The qualified candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• The qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience in a software engineering or technology position, or closely related occupation.
• The qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience with all the following:

• (a) developing, designing, maintaining and supporting software applications and systems;
• (b) testing functionality and performance of software applications and systems;
• (c) coordinating and executing software releases;
• (d) performing requirement elicitation and translating requirements into technical road map;
• (e) modifying software architectures and comprised components to reduce complexity, cost and increase scale;
• (f) conducting code and design review and providing feedback;
• (g) utilizing the following tools/technologies: Python, Java, AWS, S3, SQS, IAM, EC2, ElasticBeanstalk, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Route53, Linux OS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Jenkins, Groovy, Grafana, JSON, GIT, PagerDuty, Confluence, Jira, Slack, and Restful APIs.

• All experience may be gained concurrently.
